Owen Turns One Week Old

It's hard to believe that our little squirt is already one week old. The first week of his life has been amazing...it's truly a life changing event that has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. Everyone told us that you can't imagine what it feels like until you have a baby, and that's certainly true. Words cannot describe the love that we have for this special baby boy. We visited the pediatrician last Thursday and he got an outstanding report and he had gained 4 ounces and was back up to 7 pounds even (just 5 ounces shy of his birth weight). He is such a great baby - we just love the expressions and smiles he gives us during the day and he only cries when he's hungry or needs changing. We have been so blessed to have so much help since we've been home - thanks to everyone for the meals, visits, and cleaning services that we received. It's been a huge help! I look forward to keeping you updated on his progress.

Happy Birthday Papa

Owen got to celebrate his Papa's birthday for the first time. Papa turned 55 on January 25th. We had a birthday party at our house and Papa & Mimi and Uncle Kev & Aunt Kel came to celebrate. Owen was especially proud of the birthday card he picked out for Papa.

Home Sweet Home

On Tuesday we got to come home... we were a bit worried that the snow might hold us up, but luckily it was just snow and not ice. It was a beautiful to look at on our way home. Plus, we have a cool story to tell Owen... he actually wore an outfit on the way home that said "let it snow". We had planned that he was wearing this months in advance and consequently it was really snowing!!! How cool! Owen was knocked out the whole way home! He looked so precious in his car seat!!! I could just eat this little fellow up! We love you so much Owen!!
Owen tries out his new car seat before we leave the hospital!

Owen was very quiet during the ride home.

Ironically enough, we picked out this outfit to wear home weeks in advance. "Let it snow" was very appropriate for the morning he left. What a coincidence!

As you can see, the snow was very pretty when we left.

Owen's little ribbon on our mailbox. Welcome home!

Owen Carroll, One day old!

Wow! Words cannot express how it feels to have a child. Owen is such a blessing... we love him so much!!! Every time we look at him our hearts just melt! He is the cutest, most adorable person in this world to us. We love our family of three, he is just a doll and a half.. (yes, I know he is a boy) we are totally nuts over him!!

Owen got circumcised today... ouch, poor fellow. However, he remained a fabulous trooper and was very alert and active towards the end of the day. He is such a trooper - we are so proud of you Owen!

One of Owen's many faces... so far!

Daddy loves Owen

Uncle Kev is nuts over Owen... he can't wait to babysit and change lots of diapers.... hahaha!

Uncle Kev and Aunt Kel came to visit Owen, they bought him the most adorable outfit! Thanks! We love it!

Daddy masters changing diapers! He is already a champ!

Papa and Mimi melt over Owen!

Okay...who can resist this face!

Introducing Our Newest Addition - Meet Baby Owen!

Owen had been perfectly happy in mommy's tummy, that is until yesterday (Saturday) night. We were enjoying a last night out just the two of us at our favorite restaurant, Macaroni Grill. To our surprise, Mary began having contractions during dinner and we knew this was the beginning of our awesome story of the arrival of Owen Thomas Carroll. We went home and gathered everything we thought we would need and headed to the hospital. She was admitted at midnight and she had him at 4:46 am (yes, everything happened very quickly). He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 21 inches tall. Our little hero! Mommy and Owen are both doing extremely well and can't wait to share more pictures and stories of the three of us. Stay tuned...

Ready, Set.....Almost there!

Well.... Owen is still baking... he just doesn't want to come out... I guess he knows how cold it is outside and he is too cozy and warm in mommy's tummy! I went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything was fine, they did an ultrasound and he didn't appear to be in any stress and all fluids were great! If he is not born by Sunday, January 18th, I will be induced. I am really hoping to have him before then.. we'll see. This is the hardest part - waiting... I guess it is another one of life's wonderful lessons teaching me to be patient. Nevertheless, we are ready for our sweet angel...and cannot wait to hold, kiss, and tell him how much we love him. I will keep you posted... as this little one may decide to come before Sunday! Keep us in your prayers!

Owen's friend Henry is waiting.... relaxing on his rocker!!

Where are you Owen?

Brent's 30th Birthday

We could not plan his birthday too far in advance... since we are expecting our little one ANYTIME!!! We were hoping for today, how special would that have been for Owen and his daddy to have the same birthday... I guess Owen wanted his own day:-) We had a mini birthday party full of fun...hats, candles, balloons, food, and cake. Brent's parents and brother (we all missed Kelley, she had to work) came over for a lasagna dinner and butter pecan cake! Yum, we were all stuffed!!! Happy 30th Birthday Brent!!

Owen's precious new outfit! Owen gave it to him for his birthday! He is going to LOVE his daddy!!!
