Shots....ouch!

Owen went for his 2 month doctor's appointment on Monday... he got 3 shots and 1 oral vaccination... It was so sad, he was smiling at the doctor, cooing... and all of a sudden stick..ouch....screammmmmm ...only lasted a few surprisingly seconds... poor thing...he slept for the rest of the day. It just wore the poor fellow out! He got a very good report... weighing in at 12lbs and measuring 23 1/2 inches.

He was sleeping through the night until he got the shots.... I suppose they upset him and his eating schedule has been a little off.... now he wants that 3 am snack.... we are working on getting him back on track.
Owen also appears to be teething.... the two bottom teeth are starting to come in...you can see where they are trying to push through....kind of scary at 10 weeks....certainly explains why he drools and bites on his fingers all the time.
He still continues to amaze us daily.. more smiles, coos, and he is so aware.... so adorable. We love ya O!

No he's not hungry....he appears to be teething... at 10 weeks...

talking to Mimi... hey Mimi, I love you too :-)

I love my daddy.... he is certainly a daddy's boy. You should see his face when Brent comes home from work, he just grins ear to ear! So cute!

Cass and Lil came over for a visit. We went to the Loop yum... and then Lil and O decided to have a suckin good time together :-)
"Lilly how does your taste?? mine taste like ummm burgers and fries"

Grandma Lucy (his great-grandmother) and Gramps came to visit last week. They could not believe how much he had grown. Grandma just LOVES holding him!

2 Months Old and Snoozing....

Owen is 2 months old today.... he has achieved several important milestones this month. He is officially (I hope that I am not speaking too soon) sleeping through the night.... or all of this week at least. We went to bed on Sunday night and I kept waking up waiting for our wonderful alarm clock to go off....and it didn't. Of course being the concerned mother, I tipped toed in his room just to make sure he was still breathing... he was doing his usual, breathing loudly and making all his loud grunting and baby noises. Owen is a loud sleeper, that is why he was in his big boy bed on day three. Mommy and Daddy could not sleep with him in the same room.

He continues to change and amaze us more and more each day. He is lifting his head high during tummy time (limited time though, he is NOT a big fan of it), rolling over occasionally, smiling, laughing, turning his head in all directions, and staying awake during the day more and more. I have a feeling he is not going to be a good napper.... We just LOVE our family of three, we are so blessed to have Owen. He adds so much joy and love to our lives. We just eat him to pieces. Happy 2 months old Little Man, we love ya!
Hanging out with my buddy Henry

The morning of my 2 month birthday. He wakes up so happy... smiling and cooing... so VERY cute!!! I just love watching him wake up in the morning. He is such a happy boy. Brent and I love to see him smile.... it's amazing how the simple things in life like a smile can make your day!

Happy St. Patty's day everyone :)

Babysitting fun!

On Wednesday, Uncle Kev and Aunt Kel came over to babysit Owen for the first time! All went well... Owen was great and Kevin and Kelley had a great time... they did a fabulous job! Owen played in the swing, bouncer, and was held and loved very much while daddy and mommy enjoyed a fun evening at Moe's and Dick's Sporting Goods. It was so nice to get out...felt kind of funny to be without Owen, but we knew he was in good hands and mommy and daddy needed thier time as well. Thank you Kev and Kel- you are fabulous! We love ya!...hope that you will do it again.. :-)

Down by the Farm!

On Tuesday Owen and I took a trip to Reidsville. We went by my mom's work, Mimi's work, and then to Papa's. It was so pretty outside we could not resist to get some pics of Owen and Papa on the tractor. It was so precious, they even had overalls to match!!! Owen will be out there before you know it helping Papa farming! He is loved so much by Papa!

7 Weeks and Tasty Thumbs,,,,,

Owen is 7 weeks old today! This weekend Owen has decided that his thumb is rather tasty... I knew it was coming as he started becoming more familiar with his hands and on Sunday it happened! On Sunday, his hand-eye coordination met up and yep it happened... he sucked it! I was hoping that he would not do this b/c of germs etc... it was absolutely precious! He has also started squealing as he laughs and is noticing his surrounding more and more. He is so precious and we just eat him to pieces! Happy 7 weeks old CHAMP! We love ya!

Owen's 2nd Snow!

Yes, this is Owen's 2nd snow.... his 1st was when we were at the hospital.. he was only 2 days old. I was nervous because I thought that we were going to get snowed in... I was ready to come home! Today, Owen and I stayed inside and enjoyed the beautiful scenery... I sipped on hot chocolate, Owen enjoyed his warm milk (haha), relaxed, and when the roads were clear, we slipped out and went by Chick-fil-A drive-thru.

Being at home with Owen is so much fun. It is an adjustment, but we are doing well and enjoying being home together. Owen is growing up so fast. He is starting to make cooing noises and smiles more and more everyday. His eyes seem to be turning bluer by the day and his eyelashes are so long... just like his daddy's! He continues to look like his daddy on most days.... sometimes I see me in him, but mostly Brent. He has now officially outgrown all of his newborn clothes. It is sad... we are already boxing up clothes that are too small for our turkey! He is fitting nicely (they are a tad bit big) in his 3 month clothes. I love to dress him up (yes, I know he is a boy) in his cords, overalls, and all his clothes at that...and take him out! He just looks so handsome in all of his outfits! I just eat it up! LOVE MY BOY! We are so blessed in every way to have such a precious boy. We love our family of 3! What a beautiful new chapter God had blessed us with.

A VERY quick photo op in the snow... making snow angels???

All snuggled up and ready to go to Chick-fil-A! YUM:-)

Smiling big!

Another cute outfit!

Wearing his "Handsome...good looks run in my family" shirt???? haha
